Who Should I Choose?

- It is important to understand how to choose the right installer for you.

It is important to understand that the solar system installer you choose is just as important as the system design and the brand you decide to use.  So how do you select the right company?

Does The Company Have A Good Reputation?

The company should have a sound understanding of the solar energy industry and great working relationships with customers and suppliers.

What Brand Are The Panels?

Many companies use generic or re-badged products. At Solar Professionals, we recommend that you go with brand names you can trust, ones you can do your own research on. Across the industry, brands like Sunpower, Trina, and Hyundai have a proven track record for longevity and quality.

What Brand Is The Inverter?

Inverters are crucial to the success of your solar panel installation. SMA and Fronius are German-made and widely considered the best on the market.

Sunny Roo are Australian-made. Other reputable global brands include Power One 'Aurora' and Xantrex.

Who Carries Out The Installation?

At Solar Professionals we install every system we sell. Our Clean Energy Council (CEC) accredited installers and licensed electricians can usually complete installation within one day, and will always show you how to ensure optimal operation of the system.

What Are The Up-Front Costs?

Pay careful attention to this factor. If the company you choose asks for more than 20% of the total cost of the system up front, it is important you investigate the terms and conditions.

What Are Reasonable And Unreasonable Charges?

With each quote, there are reasonable extras but many “unreasonable” ones that you should look out for.

Reasonable extras that attract a charge could include:

  • tilt racking for a flat roof
  • travel costs
  • two storey house installation
  • split systems (panels located on two or more parts of the roof)
  • a tile roof charge.

Unreasonable extras could include:

  • a site inspection fee – if the company wants your business, this should be part of the service
  • a charge to upgrade to a brand name panel or inverter – reputable companies like Solar Professionals never upgrade because we offer quality products up front, always!
